Smart India Hackathon’22 was momentous for Paavai Engineering College, as it has been one among 75 nodal centers all over India to host a non-stop 36 hours coding hackathon. Paavai Engineering College hosted the world’s largest open innovation model of Smart India Hackathon 2022 Grand finale – Software Edition that bought around 30,000 students all over India to participate and inculcate the culture of startup and innovation ecosystem all over the world by inclusion of new methodologies.
The inauguration of the SIH 2022 was held in Anandha Arangam at 8.00a.m on 25.08.2022 where 30 teams with around 190 participants,along with mentors from various states all over India like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odhisha, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra and few teams from Tamil Nadu participated to showcase their talents and generate out-of-the-box open innovation ideas and solutions.
Chairman,Paavai Institutions,Shri.CA.NV.Natarajan welcomed the gathering.He added that the technological innovations by the young minds should help the mankind to lead a peaceful life. Ms.Sowmiya Krishnan Software Engineering Manager, HERE Technologies, Bangalore was the Chief Guest. In her keynote address, she insisted the young minds to be creative and find innovative solutions for various problems. She also commended Paavai Engineering College for providing such platforms for the students to participate in Hackathons and other technical events.Mr.SujitOturkur,SIH Nodal Centre Head by the AICTE was also a part of the two days hackathon who supported in all aspects of it. Followed with it, Central inauguration of SIH 2022 by Ministry of Education Cell, AICTE was also carried out.The Honorable Minister for MoE, Shri.Dharmedndra Pradhan inaugurated the world’s biggest digital movement through video conference across all the nodal centers in India.He congratulated all the participants who have taken initiatives for the world’s biggest Hackathon.
The inaugural function was followed with a coding session for the participants that was witnessed by the domain experts, senior professionals from IT industries and people from different organization as juries for Hackathon’22. It was followed with video conferencing by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who interacted with the participants from various colleges across the country. Head dressed ,the future of India will be dependent on Innovations and work done by the youth. He also added that “Research should be a way of life” and he advised to give importance to two things-Social support and Institutional support.
Recreational activities session for rejuvenation of the participants was carried out from 1.00a.m. to 1.30a.m. on 26.08.2022 where they came up to the dias, sung songs and danced to popular tunes. Three rounds of evaluation was done by the experts and suggestions for enhancement of their solutions was also given by them. The valedictory session commenced at 8.00p.m. on 26.08.2022. Chairman, Paavai Institutions, Shri.CA.NV.Natarajan gave the valedictory address. Dr.E.Bhaskaran, Joint Director, Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tamil Nadu, was the Chief Guest. In his address, he explained the ten steps for a successful entrepreneurship and the various initiatives, schemes offered by the Government for the upliftment of the society and innovators.
Paavai Engineering College as the nodal centre had seven winning teams under 6 problem statements given AICTE. The winners were Inquizative and Atmanirbhar from Chaitanya Engineering College and Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management,HACKpacker$ from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Vadodara, Antons from Pune Institute of Computer Technology, Tech Matrix from Vidush Somany Institute of Technology and Research, Senter from Sri Sairam Engineering College, Sugam Shiksha from Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust’s for various problem statements.These teams were awarded the cheques,prizes and memento. Participation teams and the juries were also recognized with a memento.
The teams were awarded with cheque of Rs. 1,00,000 prizes and mementos. Felicitation was done by Correspondent, Smt.Mangai Natarajan. She insisted on Paavai’s mantra “Own our words and deeds” to the participants and to create socially responsible, economically viable, legally bound and ethically sound atmosphere. The two days Smart India Hackathon 2022 ended with a National Anthem.The ambience was quite aesthetic as all the focused minds of the country were gathered here to present their innovative ideas to combat the real-time challenges of our nation. The energy and enthusiasm portrayed by one and all was overwhelming. The campus was brimming with positivity and hope for a better future in the two days of SIH2022. Director Administration and Director Admissions, Paavai Institutions, Principal, Paavai Engineering College,Deans, Controller of Examination, SIH SPOC, Heads of various departments, faculty members, committee coordinators of SIH, NSS,YRC volunteers were also a part of the event.
