A one-day technical webinar titled “Best Practices and Emerging Trends in Steel Structure Connections” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering in association with the Paavai Civil Engineering Association, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), on August 20, 2024.
The event began with a welcome address by V. Thenmozhi, a third-year student. L. Dhanush, a final-year student, introduced the guest speaker, Dr. A. Punitha Kumar, Associate Professor and HoD, Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering, School of Civil Engineering, VIT University, Vellore.
Dr. Kumar delivered an insightful lecture on current practices and advanced methods used in steel structure connections. He also discussed recent trends in steel structure connections globally, emphasizing the use of innovative technologies in modern construction.
The webinar provided participants with valuable knowledge about the evolving practices and emerging trends in steel structure connections. The session was highly interactive, with faculty members and students actively engaging in discussions. Dr. Kumar effectively addressed queries from the students, enhancing their understanding of the subject.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by M. Janathul Roshni, a second-year student. The one-day technical webinar was a success, leaving the participants with a deeper understanding of the topic.
