The Department of Agricultural Engineering, in association with Paavai Velaan Mandram, organized an Awareness Programme on the Agricultural Engineering Government Scheme – “End to End Farm Mechanization” on 14th October 2025 at Prestige Hall. The programme aimed to familiarize students with the Government of Tamil Nadu’s initiatives to promote complete mechanization throughout the stages of crop production, thereby increasing productivity, reducing labour dependency, and advancing sustainable agricultural practices.
The event commenced with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address delivered by Mr. P. Yogaraj, IV Year, Department of Agricultural Engineering, Student Secretary. In his address, he highlighted the relevance of farm mechanization in enhancing the efficiency of agricultural operations and its role in empowering farmers through technology adoption.
The Guest Lecture was delivered by Mrs. R. Padmavathi, Executive Engineer, Department of Agricultural Engineering, Namakkal District. She presented an in-depth explanation of the “End to End Farm Mechanization” scheme, detailing its objectives, operational procedures, and subsidy frameworks. She elaborated on the types of machinery supported under various components of the scheme—from land preparation to harvesting—and underscored the importance of mechanization in improving productivity and reducing cultivation costs. Her insightful presentation inspired students to understand the practical applications of government initiatives in promoting agricultural modernization.
The programme was meticulously coordinated by Mr. U. Karthickeya, Assistant Professor (FS/Agri), and Mr. R. Gopikrishnan, Teaching Research Associate (Agri), under the guidance of the Head of the Department. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who actively interacted with the speaker and gained valuable insights into agricultural engineering schemes, machinery applications, and rural technology development.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Gokula Kannan M., Overall Coordinator, Department of Agricultural Engineering, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. R. Padmavathi, the faculty members, and all the students for their active engagement and contributions toward the successful conduct of the awareness programme.
