The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) organized an online Guest Lecture on “Electrical Supply Systems (HT & LT) in Modern Power Plants” through the Microsoft Teams platform on 30th August 2025 from 03:00 p.m. to 04:00 p.m.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. D. Nancy, a final-year EEE student. The resource person for the session was Mr. D. Anbarasu, Deputy Director (Technical), National Power Training Institute (PSTI), Bangalore, who delivered an insightful lecture on High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT) supply systems, which form the backbone of modern power plants.
He provided a detailed understanding of HT and LT supply mechanisms, emphasizing safety practices, operational reliability, and the role of advanced technologies in strengthening energy distribution networks. He further highlighted the integration of renewable energy into conventional systems, the importance of sustainable solutions, and the challenges involved in ensuring uninterrupted supply for both industrial and domestic applications.
The session proved to be highly informative, offering students and professionals valuable insights into how well-designed HT and LT systems contribute to efficiency, sustainability, and grid stability in the modern power sector.
This one-day online Guest Lecture Programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. G. Balaji, Professor and Head of the Department of EEE, and coordinated by Dr. S. Siddik and Mrs. K. K. Poongodi. Ms. R. Elakya, a final-year EEE student, introduced the chief guest, while Ms. S. Vaishnavi, a final-year EEE student, proposed the vote of thanks.
