The Google Developer Student Club (GDSC) of Paavai Engineering College conducted its first event, an Info Session, on 10.09.2025 at JRD Tata Hall. The session aimed to create awareness among students about the benefits of being part of GDG.
Ms. Pavithra, III Year / AI&DS, welcomed the gathering. The presidential and keynote address was delivered by Prof. Kamala Krishnamurthy, Respected Centre–Head / PIF. Dr. B. Venkatesan, GDG Faculty Advisor and Head of the Department of Information Technology, introduced the core team members. Nearly 300 participants actively took part in the session.
GDSC Paavai Engineering College is a student-led developer community supported by Google Developers. Its mission is to bring together passionate learners, developers, and innovators to explore cutting-edge technologies, share knowledge, and build impactful solutions. Through workshops, hands-on sessions, hackathons, and collaborative projects, the club empowers students to enhance their technical skills, explore career opportunities, and stay connected with the global developer ecosystem. Whether a beginner curious about coding or an advanced developer aiming to scale skills, GDG On Campus provides the platform to learn, build, and grow together.
Mr. K. Rajesh, GDG Lead for this tenure, addressed the participants with a brief introduction to GDG. Following this, the core team leads explained their respective domains, including Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Web Development, Content Writing, Python, User Interface & User Experience, Digital Marketing, Google Cloud Platform, and Android App Development.
They also highlighted the future scope and opportunities in their domains. At the end of each session, participants shared their feedback. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Nehasri, Final Year / IoT.
