A Guest Lecture on the topic “Creativity and Design Thinking” was organized by the Department of Aeronautical Engineering in association with the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) on 30.08.2025 from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Visvesvaraya Hall. The Resource Person was Mr. Abdul Aziz, Design Engineer, Dileka Innovations Private Ltd, Kotagiri. The primary objective of the lecture was to provide students with insights into creativity as a skill and the application of design thinking in solving real-world engineering problems. The session aimed to encourage innovative thinking, enhance problem-solving approaches, and motivate students to incorporate creativity into engineering design processes.
In his address, Mr. Abdul Aziz highlighted the importance of creativity in engineering design and explained how design thinking frameworks can be applied to develop user-centric solutions. He shared practical examples from his professional experience, illustrating how innovative approaches lead to successful outcomes in product development and engineering projects. The lecture also emphasized the value of collaboration, empathy, and prototyping in the design process.
