The Department of Cyber Security organized an insightful Guest Lecture on “Cybersecurity Compliance and Innovation: Safeguarding Data Through Regulatory Alignment.” The session aimed to educate students on the importance of aligning cybersecurity strategies with legal and regulatory frameworks, and how innovation plays a critical role in modern data protection.
The event commenced with a Welcome Address delivered by Mr. M. Karthick, a third-year Cyber Security student, who warmly greeted the gathering and set the tone for the session.
Following this, Ms. B. Vaishnavi, also from the third year of Cyber Security, introduced the esteemed Resource Person, Mr. M. Raj Kumar, a distinguished Cybersecurity Consultant and Cybercrime Investigator from Coimbatore. She highlighted his vast experience in cyber investigations, compliance protocols, and digital risk management.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. M. P. Muthusami, HoD, who emphasized the vital role of cybersecurity in today’s digital economy and urged students to stay updated with evolving regulatory standards. He encouraged the integration of ethical practices and innovation to meet the challenges of securing data in a compliance-driven environment.
In the Keynote Address, Mr. M. Raj Kumar provided a comprehensive overview of cybersecurity compliance frameworks, including GDPR, HIPAA, and the Indian IT Act. He explained how regulatory alignment not only ensures legal protection but also fosters customer trust and organizational resilience.
