The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, in association with the Institute Innovation Council, organized a Guest Lecture on “Entrepreneurship / Design Thinking” on 21st August 2025. The session aimed to motivate students to understand the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, design thinking approaches, and the importance of innovation in shaping their career pathways.
The programme commenced with a prayer song rendered by Ms. Sathya Sri, Ms. D. Kogina, and Ms. Dharshini from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology.
The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Kavipriya C., III Year, Pharmaceutical Technology, PEC, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Mrs. Kamala Krishnamurthy, Centre Head, PIF, who emphasized the importance of entrepreneurial thinking among young graduates and the role of institutions in nurturing innovation.
The Chief Guest Introduction was given by Ms. Praveena M., III Year, Pharmaceutical Technology, PEC, who introduced the resource person to the audience.
The Guest Lecture was delivered by Dr. A. Gomathy, CEO, Management Team, Periyar University Business Incubation Confederation (BIC@PU), Periyar University, Salem. In her insightful address, she highlighted the significance of entrepreneurial skills in today’s competitive world, elaborated on the role of design thinking in problem-solving, and shared valuable case studies of successful startups. She also encouraged students to transform their innovative ideas into feasible business ventures and explained the support mechanisms available through incubation centers.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Jane Amritha, II Year, Pharmaceutical Technology, PEC, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their active participation.
