The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, in association with the Institute Innovation Council, organized a Guest Lecture on “Innovation / Prototype Validation – Converting Innovation into a Start-up” on 22nd August 2025. The objective of the session was to enlighten students on how innovative ideas can be developed into successful prototypes and eventually transformed into viable startups.
The programme commenced with a prayer rendered by Ms. Sathya Sri, Ms. D. Kogina, and Ms. Dharshini from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, PEC.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. Rajasri E., III Year, Pharmaceutical Technology, PEC, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries and participants.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, who emphasized the role of innovation in driving economic and social development. He highlighted the importance of nurturing creative thinking among students and the institutional support provided to promote research and innovation.
The Chief Guest Introduction was presented by Ms. P. Sobika, III Year, Pharmaceutical Technology, PEC.
The Guest Lecture was delivered by Mr. Rajadurai Jesudoss, Director (Technical) – Sea2Farm and Founder – AK Seaweeds, Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu. In his insightful address, he shared his entrepreneurial journey in the seaweed industry, explaining how innovation and scientific approaches enabled him to establish a successful venture. He emphasized the processes of prototype validation, the challenges in transforming concepts into products, and strategies for commercialization. His talk greatly inspired the students to pursue innovative projects and consider entrepreneurship as a career path.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms. Nivetha, II Year, Pharmaceutical Technology, PEC, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their active participation.
