In honor of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan’s birthday, the Department of Mathematics at Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), Paavai College of Engineering, and Pavai Arts and Science College organized a series of events to celebrate his extraordinary legacy and inspire students.
The Tribute Ceremony, held on December 26th, 2024, featured a Presidential Address by Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent of Paavai Educational Institutions. She emphasized the importance of approaching mathematics with a fresh perspective, encouraging both students and faculty to engage more deeply with the subject.
Dr. V.P. Ramesh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Central University of Thiruvarur, was invited as the guest speaker. He shared valuable insights on the significance of mathematics in engineering and inspired students to appreciate its practical relevance. Dr. Ramesh also discussed the emerging Z10 vs. Z2 coding versions, comparing them with widely used programming languages like R and Python, offering students a deeper understanding of contemporary trends in computational mathematics.
During the ceremony, winners of the various events organized by each college were recognized and awarded certificates by the distinguished guests.
