The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a seminar on “High Performance Thermoelectric Devices with Novel Passive Cooling” on 25.09.2025 from 10.30 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. at Cute Hall.
The event began with a prayer song by Ms. G. Gobikasruthi and Ms. P. V. Indumathi, followed by a welcome address delivered by Ms. K. Shobika, a third-year student of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Dr. S. Harish, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli, was the distinguished guest speaker. He delivered an insightful lecture on high-performance thermoelectric devices and their role in efficient energy conversion. He highlighted novel passive cooling techniques that enhance device performance, reduce energy losses, and promote sustainable thermal management solutions. The seminar also emphasized practical applications in electronics, renewable energy systems, and power electronics, inspiring students to explore innovative approaches for improving energy efficiency and advancing green technologies.
Through this seminar, students gained knowledge of thermoelectric principles, device design, and passive cooling methods. They also developed an understanding of how high-performance thermoelectric devices improve energy efficiency, identified potential applications in electrical and electronic systems, and enhanced their awareness of sustainable thermal management technologies for future research and innovation.
The chief guest was introduced by Ms. N. Naaga Varshithaai, a third-year EEE student, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. B. Balanagarani, also a third-year EEE student.
This one-day seminar was organized under the guidance of Dr. G. Balaji, Professor and Head of the Department, and coordinated by Dr. S. Sugnaya and Dr. C. Arulkumar.
