The Department of Aeronautical Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, in association with IIC EDC, successfully organized a one-day seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights” at Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) on March 19, 2025. The event, held at Kalam Chamber from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., aimed to educate students on the significance of intellectual property in technological advancements and innovation.
The seminar commenced with a soulful prayer song by Ms. A. Dhanusri and Ms. B. Rashikaa, II Year AI & DS. Ms. J.S. Brammavathi, II Year AI & DS, delivered the welcome address, extending a warm greeting to the distinguished guests and participants. Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of intellectual property in research and entrepreneurship.
Following this, Dr. M. Raja, M.E., Ph.D., Professor & Head, Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, delivered the felicitation address, highlighting the relevance of intellectual property rights (IPR) in academia and industry. Ms. S. Sriananya, II Year AI & DS, introduced the esteemed guest speaker, Dr. R. Rajkumar, B.E., M.E., Ph.D., Senior Assistant Professor, E&I, and Head of the IPR CELL at Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai.
Dr. Rajkumar delivered an insightful seminar on Intellectual Property Rights, discussing patents, copyrights, trademarks, and their role in protecting innovations. He provided real-world examples and encouraged students to explore IP protection in their academic projects and future careers.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Perikala Akilesh, IV Year AERO, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, and students for making the seminar a success.
