An Alumni Guest Lecture on the topic “Resurgence of Aircraft Design, Manufacturing and Applications” was organized through online by the Department of Aeronautical Engineering on 18/05/2024 from 02.00 PM To 04.00 PM online. Gopinathan Selvam, Founder and Director, Dileka Aerospace Pvt Ltd and Dileka Innovations, Nilgris-643217 was the Guest Speaker. The objective of the event was to familiarize about the career opportunities in the field of aeronautics, aerospace and defense. They will also know about the various skills demanded by the Industries. The Welcome address and chief guest introduction was delivered by Mr.Perikala Akilesh, student of Third Year Aeronautical Engineering.
In his address Mr.Gopinathan explained about the current technological advancements, market demands and social needs shaping the future trajectory of aerospace industry. He went on to list the required skills from the engineers for the design and fabrication sector. He also briefed about the private sector dominance, Government initiatives and foreign collaborations involved in the aerospace industry. Around 50 participants attended the online guest lecture. Queries were asked and it was clarified by the resource speakers.
The session ended with a vote of thanks by Ms.T.Rajeshwari of Second Year Aeronautical Engineering. The event was convened by Professor & Head, Dr.R.Arravind and Co-ordinated by Assistant Professor Mr.K.Gokulnath.
