The Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Paavai Engineering College, organized an online guest lecture on “The Evolution, Applications, and Regulations of Drone Technology” on 22/02/2025 from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM. The session aimed to provide students with insights into advancements in drone technology, its diverse applications, and the regulatory aspects governing UAV operations.
The guest lecture was delivered by Mr. Lingeswaren R., Business Development Manager, Asia Softlab Private Ltd, Kerala, an expert in unmanned aerial vehicles. The event commenced with a warm welcome, followed by the introduction of the chief guest by Perikala Akilash, a final-year Aeronautical Engineering student. The speaker elaborated on the evolution of drone technology, its impact across various industries such as aerospace, defense, agriculture, surveillance, and disaster management, and the latest policies ensuring safe and legal drone operations.
The session was highly interactive, with students and faculty members actively engaging in discussions and clarifying their queries related to drone technology and its future prospects. The insights provided by the speaker helped participants gain a deeper understanding of drone advancements and industry expectations.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by V. Dharani Sri, a second-year Aeronautical Engineering student, expressing gratitude to the speaker and participants for making the session a great success.
