The intra-college competition “AEROCK’S – 2024” was organized by the Department of Aeronautical Engineering on 18th October 2024. Two events were conducted as part of this program: Parachute Diving and Pictorial Puzzle. Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College, delivered the presidential address, highlighting the importance of skill development and testing one’s abilities through participation in such competitions.
A total of 200 students from various departments of Paavai Engineering College registered for the competition. Among them, 100 participants were shortlisted. Of these, 40 students took part in the Parachute Diving event, and 60 students participated in groups for the Pictorial Puzzle event.
In the Parachute Diving competition, students built their own parachute models using A4-sized colored paper and tested their endurance, range, design, and smoothness of landing by hand-launching them into the air. The Pictorial Puzzle competition required students to solve technical puzzles using pictures.
Certificates of merit were awarded to the top two participants in each event, while all other participants received certificates of participation. The program concluded with the distribution of certificates by Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College.
All events were organized by the Aeronautical Sector Skill Council Student Chapter of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, in association with the Aero Modeling Club. The event was coordinated by Dr. D. Deepak, Associate Professor of Aeronautical Engineering, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. R. Arravind, Head of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering. The event was attended by faculty members and students of the department.
