The Department of Agricultural Engineering, in association with The Institution’s Innovation Council of Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), organized a guest lecture titled “Lean Start-Up and Minimum Viable Product/Business Mentoring Session” on 28.08.2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The guest speaker was Ms. S. Prithika, B.E., M.B.A., from PM Enterprises, Pondicherry.
The online guest lecture began with a welcome address and an introduction of the chief guest by Dr. A. Vivekanandhini, Convenor and Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering at Paavai Engineering College. The session continued with the talk by the resource speaker, who provided a clear explanation of the history behind lean startups and business ideas related to various dairy products and other agriculture-related schemes and subsidies. She also addressed student queries and provided information on starting a business. Additionally, she encouraged students to undertake simple projects involving innovations such as automatic weather control, soil and water conservation, rainwater harvesting, hydroponics, and agricultural machinery rental, hiring, and sales.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. G. Kiruba, Faculty Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Engineering. Dr. A. Vivekanandhini, Convenor and HoD of Agricultural Engineering; Dr. R. Mohana Priya, Convenor of IIC and HoD of ECE; Dr. P. Tamilchelvan, Ambassador of IIC and Professor of Agricultural Engineering; along with faculty members and around 120 participants, attended the guest lecture. The outcome of the session was that students gained knowledge about various central and Tamil Nadu schemes, as well as lean startup strategies to help them establish their own startups in the future.
