The Department of Biotechnology conducted a Guest lecture on the topic “Quality Assurance and Quality Control for Biotech Industries” on 8th May 2024. The Resource person was Mr.S.Karthi, Manager-Quality Control, S.V Chem Intermediate Pvt Ltd, Alathur, Thiruporur, Chengalpattu. The meeting was convened by Dr.C.Nirmala, Head of the Department of Biotechnology. Ms.Harshaa III year, B.Tech Biotechnology, hosted the event. Mr.Santhosh, B.Tech Biotechnology II year gave the welcome address. The session started with the brief profile introduction of the esteemed guest by Ms.Nikhitha, II year B.Tech Biotechnology student. The resource person delivered an enlightening presentation on the topic of quality assurance in the pharmaceutical industry, highlighting its significance and distinguishing it from other sectors within the industry. He elucidated his pivotal role in ensuring quality standards and discussed opportunities for Biotechnology students pursuing their degrees to enter the pharmaceutical sector. He emphasized the importance of training, internships, and active involvement in the industry, providing valuable insights into the practical aspects of quality assurance. He elaborated on the functions and responsibilities of quality assurance personnel, emphasizing their authority to oversee all aspects of laboratory operations. Through his informative session, he provided invaluable guidance to aspiring professionals, empowering them to pursue successful careers in the pharmaceutical industry. The seminar also featured interactive sessions where participants had the opportunity to engage directly with speaker, to share their own experiences and insights. These sessions facilitated meaningful discussions, allowing participants to gain deeper insights into key topics and challenges faced by the pharmaceutical industry.
