The Department of Biotechnology organized a guest lecture and workshop, NUTRIUTSAV-2024 – “Nourish and Innovate: Redefining Nutritional Refinement Skills”, on the 4th of September, 2024. The event was convened by Dr. C. Nirmala, Head of the Department, Paavai Engineering College, with Mr. K. Vignesh, AP/BT, serving as the staff coordinator. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. S. Jayasudha.
The session was led by Mrs. S. Anandhi, Food and Nutrition Trainer. It commenced with a prayer song performed by Ms. T. Kaviyanjali and Ms. S. Ishwarya, both final-year Biotechnology students. An introduction to the guest speaker was provided by Ms. M. Renupriya, another final-year Biotechnology student.
Mrs. S. Anandhi’s lecture focused on the benefits of food and nutrition, raising awareness among the participants. Her presentation emphasized the role of nutritious food in maintaining health, and the session included interactive discussions, allowing participants to ask questions and engage actively with the speaker.
Outcomes of the Event:
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. A. Manoj Perumal, a final-year Biotechnology student. The lecture and workshop, which lasted for the entire day, was attended by more than 142 students and provided valuable insights into food and nutrition.
