A one-day hands-on training program titled “Interior Design Simplified with Coohom Software” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, in association with the Paavai Civil Engineering Association, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), on 15.03.2025.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. M. Dhanush, a third-year student, followed by an introduction of the Chief Guest by Ms. R. Priyadharshini, a second-year student.
Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of civil engineering software and the global job opportunities available for civil engineers.
Prof. K. Sharmiladevi, Head of the Department, introduced the resource speaker, giving an overview of the various software used in interior design within the field of civil engineering.
The guest speaker, Mr. Lokesh Bharathidasan, Founder – Boundless Design Academy, Sustecture Consultants, Sustainability Consultant, and Master Trainer, Chennai, provided insights into Coohom software, highlighting its advantages over conventional interior design software. He conducted a live demonstration of designing a building using Coohom software and showcased the visualization of the designed building using an AR/VR kit. By the end of the session, students gained valuable knowledge about the software, its benefits, and hands-on experience in working with it.
The session was attended by Prof. K. Sharmiladevi, HoD/Civil, Mr. A. Jayapal, AP/Civil, and Mr. N. Moorthi, AP/Civil, who served as faculty coordinators, along with faculty members and approximately 62 participants.
The event successfully concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. M. Jannathul Roshini, a second-year student. The session was highly informative and enriching, providing students with valuable technical exposure in interior design software.
