A one-day technical webinar titled “The Opportunities Available in the CRIP and Built Environment Sector” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering in association with the Paavai Civil Engineering Association, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) on 11.04.2025.
The session began with a warm welcome by Ms. M. Jannathul Roshni, a second-year student, followed by the introduction of the Chief Guest by Mr. Sunil Kumar, also a second-year student.
Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of resources and projects in the field of construction management.
Prof. K. Sharmiladevi, Head of the Department, introduced the speaker and provided an overview of the CRIP and Built Environment sector.
The resource speaker for the session was Prof. Prashanth Kumar Sreram, Assistant Professor at NICMAR University of Construction Studies, Hyderabad. He elaborated on sustainable design, construction, and the management of buildings, infrastructure, and urban developments. He also highlighted the various career opportunities in the CRIP and Built Environment sector, such as investment management, asset management, and environmental consulting. In addition, he shared valuable insights into higher education and training opportunities at NICMAR.
The webinar provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects, along with the diverse job prospects in this field.
The event was coordinated by Prof. K. Sharmiladevi (HoD/Civil), Mr. N. Moorthi (AP/Civil), and Mr. M. Rajkannan (AP/Civil), with the active involvement of faculty members and the enthusiastic participation of around 85 students.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. M. Jannathul Roshni, marking the successful end of a highly informative and enriching technical webinar.
