The Department of CSE (IoT) organized a Guest Lecture titled “Opportunities in Banking and Financial Services for IT Professionals” on March 12, 2025. The session aimed to provide students with insights into the banking and financial services sector within the IT industry.
The event began with a welcome address by Kithiga D, a third-year CSE (IoT) student. This was followed by the presidential address delivered by Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, who highlighted the significance of banking and financial services in the IT domain.
Vasanthan S, another third-year CSE (IoT) student, introduced the resource speaker, Dr. S. Sathish Kumar, M.E., Ph.D., HR Manager at Whitestone Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Dharmapuri.
During his lecture, Dr. Sathish Kumar elaborated on various aspects of banking and financial services, including FinTech, AI, and digital banking professions. He discussed key software development and engineering concepts, such as:
Students gained valuable insights into corporate and retail banking and how IT professionals contribute to these sectors. The session saw active participation from 110 students, with several engaging in a Q&A session, where Dr. Sathish Kumar clarified their queries.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Surya Prakash S, a second-year CSE (IoT) student.
The event was successfully organized under the guidance of Dr. M. Ramesh Kumar, Professor and Head, along with Mr. S. Sathish, Faculty Coordinator, and Siddharthan T, Student Coordinator from CSE (IoT). The guest lecture was attended by II and III-year CSE (IoT) students and faculty members of the department.
