The Department of Cyber Security & MCA organized a Guest Lecture on “Exploring the World of Cloud with AWS” on March 13, 2025.
The resource person for the session was Mr. Natarajan Deepu. P.U., Senior DevOps Engineer, Autodesk, Bengaluru. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. P. Muthusamy, Head of the Department, Cyber Security & MCA, and coordinated by Mrs. V. Sinthuja, Faculty Coordinator.
The session began with:
A welcome address by N. Shalini, III-year Cyber Security.
An introduction to the guest by S. Banu, III-year Cyber Security.
An introduction to the technical trainer by A. Ajmal Thahseen, III-year Cyber Security.
Our esteemed guest speaker, Mr. Natarajan Deepu, provided valuable insights into cloud computing and Amazon Web Services (AWS). He began by explaining the concept of cloud computing, emphasizing its advantages, such as scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness.
AWS, one of the leading cloud service providers, offers a wide range of services, including:
Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) – for computing power
Simple Storage Service (S3) – for scalable storage
Relational Database Service (RDS) – for managed databases
Lambda – for serverless computing
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) – for secure networking
The lecture also covered AWS certification levels, which validate expertise in cloud technologies. The certifications are categorized into four levels:
Foundational – AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (basic cloud knowledge)
Associate – AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, and SysOps Administrator
Professional – AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and DevOps Engineer – Professional
Specialty – Certifications focusing on networking, security, machine learning, and databases
The session provided students with a clear understanding of AWS services and career opportunities in cloud computing.
The interactive Q&A session allowed participants to clarify doubts and gain deeper insights into AWS technologies. The valedictory function was conducted on March 13, 2025, marking the successful conclusion of the lecture.
