The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with The Institution of Engineers (India) – Salem Local Centre (IEI – SLC) organized a seminar titled “Business Intelligence and Cloud Platform services for IoT ” on 09.10.2024. The objective of this seminar is to make the students to explore, how Internet of Things can be integrated into different industry processes to optimize workflows, predict outcomes and enhance their experiences.
In the Presidential address, Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director-Admin, Paavai Educational Institutions insisted that IoT are the unseen force, driving much of the technological advancements that we witness today. They are at the heart of countless real time applications, from our everyday consumer electronics to the complex machinery that powers our industries. He also emphasized the students to attend more seminars related to IoT and focus on placements and become entrepreneurs by creating startup industries in near future.
In the Keynote address, Dr.C.Ganesh, Associate Professor, Department of Computer and Communication Engineering, Sri Eshwar college of Engineering, Coimbatore insisted on the importance of IoT devices and how it generates immense amounts of data and highlighted about Business Intelligence (BI) its actionable insights, real-time data processing and predictive analytics. He also explained about Cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, that provides the flexibility and global reach needed for seamless IoT operations. Finally the guest speaker answered various queries posted by the students.
Dr.R.Mohanapriya, Convener, HoD/ECE, Dr.S.Vijayakumar Prof/ECE, Mr.S.Satheeshkumar AP/ECE, and Mr. A.Saravanan, AP / ECE were the faculty coordinators and 90 students which included 50 ECE and 40 CSE(IoT) students attended the seminar. The students gained a deeper understanding of the fundamental concepts of IoT with Business Intelligence, its impact on real world and how it revolutionized the Industrial growth.
