The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a guest lecture titled “Design and Analysis of Window-based FIR Filters in Signal Processing” on 11th September 2024. The event aimed to educate students on the role of FIR filters in signal processing.
The welcome address, along with the presentation of the institution’s and the ECE department’s vision and mission, was delivered by A. Bhuvaneshwari, a third-year ECE student. Dr. K. Selvi, Dean of Academics, delivered the presidential address, and Ms. Agalya, also from the third year of ECE, introduced the resource speaker.
The resource speaker, Dr. C. Bennila Thangammal, Professor of ECE from Tiruvallur, provided an insightful lecture on the role of filters and the different types of filters used in signal processing. She elaborated on the advantages of filters in signal processing, enabling students to better understand how filters are used to analyze signals. Approximately 140 participants attended the online guest lecture, and the resource speaker addressed various queries raised by the students.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. R. Bhuvaneshwari, Assistant Professor of ECE. The event was convened by Dr. R. Mohana Priya, Head of the ECE Department. Mrs. C. Vanaja, Associate Professor of ECE, and Mr. S. Vijayakumar, Associate Professor of ECE, organized the event, with coordination support from Mrs. R. Bhuvaneshwari and Mrs. A. Sujitha, both Assistant Professors of ECE.
