The Department of Information Technology organized an alumni guest lecture on “College to Career: The Roadmap” on 16th April 2025 at Cute Hall. The presidential address was delivered by Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, who encouraged students to participate in various activities and to think differently in order to achieve their goals in life.
Dr.B. Venkatesan, Head of the Department of Information Technology, facilitated the event. Ms.R.Yogapriya, a second-year IT student, welcomed the gathering, and Mr. K. Vishal Kowsik, also a second-year IT student, introduced the resource speaker.
The guest speaker, Mr. Natarajan Chandran(B.Tech-Information Technology Batch 2016-2020), Senior Software Engineer at Huawei Technologies, UAE, shared valuable insights on development tips and career planning for final-year placements. The session was highly interactive, covering topics such as joining professional clubs, building a network (e.g., on LinkedIn, Google, Microsoft), enhancing communication and technical skills (including Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, Cloud, IoT, and Networking), obtaining course certifications, building an effective resume, identifying areas of interest, and job hunting strategies. He also motivated students to attend webinars and present papers.
Nearly 100 participants benefited from this informative session. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr.S.S.Vishnu Prasath, a second-year IT student, marking the successful conclusion of the alumni guest lecture.
