The department of Information Technology has recently invited a guest lecture on “No More Coding”, which was quite informative to familiarize the students regarding the new job roles in the IT Industry. The program inaugurated with a prayer song. Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director Admin to delivered the presidential address.
The guest who arrived to delivered the session was Mr. Sathish Kumar Velappan Chandran, Senior Product Owner and Manager at Tech Mahindra, Chennai, the guest speaker started the session with a word of introduction, It was an interactive session start paved way to a number of interesting responses. He spoke about the emerging trend of no-code positions in the IT sector and also provided some industry tips and tricks based on his experience. He shared how he transitioned from the technical stream to the business analyst stream and the difference between these two categories as well as between projects and products. He easily demonstrated when students can turn their academic projects into marketable products and at the same time insisted that for one to gain knowledge on how the system work, one has to undertake many projects. He also urged students to acquire additional certification to complement their training in a bid to enrich themselves.
The session ended with a question and answer session. Mr.Sathish proceeded to conduct an impromptu interview and gave useful insights on how the self-introduction could be improved. The proceedings were rounded off with a vote of thanks, the audience was enlightened and had a better insight on what awaits them with regard to IT openings.
