The Department of Management Studies at Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) organized a discussion on the Union Budget 2025 on February 5, 2025, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Kalam Chamber.
Shri CA. N. V. Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, and Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent of Paavai Educational Institutions, presided over the function. Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, along with the Dean of Academics, Director-MBA, and faculty members from various departments, graced the occasion.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Mr. S. R. Sanjaynath, a first-year MBA student. Shri CA. N. V. Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, served as the moderator for the discussion, providing an insightful overview of the Union Budget. He introduced the speakers to the audience and set the stage for an engaging session.
CA S. Kumar provided insights into the government’s support for startups, the strengthening of the MSME sector, and advancements in agriculture. He highlighted the government’s commitment to economic development, entrepreneurial growth, and self-reliance in essential commodities.
CA S. Harinie elaborated on key aspects of the budget speech, the budget bill, the memorandum of the budget, and direct tax proposals. The discussion also covered government strategies for revenue generation, deficit control, and economic growth. Special attention was given to taxation reforms, public sector disinvestment, and inflation control measures aimed at maintaining economic stability.
During the interactive Question and Answer session, Shri CA. N. V. Natarajan and the speakers addressed various queries raised by students, fostering a deeper understanding of the budget’s implications.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. B. Sowmiya, a first-year MBA student, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, and participants for their valuable contributions to the discussion.
