The Department of Mechatronics Engineering, in association with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Paavai Engineering College, organized a Guest Lecture on “Smart Innovations & Future Trends” on March 18, 2025. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of industry applications and technological advancements in electric and hybrid electric vehicles.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Nishanthini, a second-year Mechatronics Engineering student, followed by an introduction of the resource speaker, Mr. Krithesh Ashokan, Founder & CEO of Tupac Automation Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, delivered by Ms. Leena, also a second-year Mechatronics student.
During the session, Mr. Krithesh Ashokan provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of smart innovations and their transformative impact across industries. He highlighted key advancements in AI, IoT, and automation, emphasizing their role in enhancing efficiency and sustainability. The discussion also covered future trends such as smart cities, autonomous vehicles, and wearable technology, which are set to revolutionize daily life. Additionally, he elaborated on breakthroughs in biotechnology and quantum computing, particularly their applications in healthcare and cybersecurity.
The session was highly interactive, with around 100 students actively participating and engaging in discussions. Their queries were effectively addressed by the speaker, making the session both informative and thought-provoking.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. M.G. Dhanishkar, a second-year Mechatronics student. The successful coordination of the event was led by Dr. D.R.P. Rajarathnam, Head of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, and Dr. R.T. Ajaykarthik, Professor, Mechatronics Engineering.
This Guest Lecture provided an enriching platform for students to gain industry-relevant knowledge and explore emerging trends in sustainable transportation technologies and smart innovations.
