The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC-PEC) & EDC, Institution of Engineers (India), Salem celebrated National Technology Day through a session on “Technological Innovations in Generative AI” on 11.05.2024. The welcome address was given by Ranjith Kumar, Third year/ECE.
In the Presidential address, Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College insisted the importance of celebrating National Technology Day. He also addressed about the focus the younger generation is moving nowadays towards entrepreneurship and innovation. The Chief guest introduction was given by L.Puja Maharana from III year/ECE.
Mr.SathishKumar Paramasivam, Founder & CEO, i18n solutions, Google Developers, Tensor flow groups, Salem was the resource speaker. He started the session by outlining about concepts of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. He later delved into the concepts of Generative AI with practical applications. He cited and solved programs using Python and Pyetho. He motivated the students to gather knowledge and make use of their course of study to analyse, solve innovative problems and bring solutions. He also explained about ChatGpt, Gemini and other AI tools, its applications with its significance. Finally queries were posted and clarified by the resource speaker.
Dr.M.Sudha, Head of the Department was the convener of the programme. Dr.R.Mohana Priya, ASP, ECE and IIC Convener, Ms.S.PrasanaMery AP/ECE were the faculty coordinators. 90 students from various departments of Paavai Engineering College and 10 faculty members attended the session. Finally, P.Sri Sabari from third year ECE gave the vote of thanks.
