The inauguration of the “Finishing School of Employability” at Paavai Engineering College took place on 28th January 2025. The event was graced by the Principal of Paavai Engineering College, along with the Head of the CSE Department, Infosys training students, and CSE students.
The welcome address was delivered by F. Delphinaa, a third-year student from the CSE department.
In the presidential address on the Finishing School of Employability, the importance of bridging the gap between education and employment was emphasized. The speaker highlighted the need for comprehensive skill development beyond academic qualifications, focusing on practical competencies such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership.
G. Saravanan, Associate Vice President of ICT Academy, in his report on the “Finishing School of Employability,” emphasized the crucial need to bridge the gap between academic education and job market demands. The program is designed to equip students and young professionals with vital skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability—qualities highly valued by employers across various sectors. By focusing on hands-on experience, networking opportunities, and tailored career development, the program aims to enhance employability and help participants transition seamlessly from education to the workforce.
Furthermore, the report underscored the significance of customized training modules that address specific industry demands, including resume building, interview preparation, digital literacy, and leadership development. The initiative also encourages collaborations with companies and mentors to provide real-world insights and internship opportunities. By doing so, it not only prepares individuals to secure jobs but also helps them thrive in their careers, contributing to a more dynamic and resilient workforce in the long run.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Swathi S, a final-year student from the CSE department. The session was attended by a total of 217 students and faculty members.
