The Paavai Institution’s Innovation Council, Paavai Engineering College organized a workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights and IP management for Startup” on 13th May, 2024 with Dr. D. Sri Vidhya, M.E., Ph.D. and Mrs.V. Indumathi, M.E., (Ph.D), IPR Coordinators , K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu, India, as the resource speakers., This workshop was coordinated by Dr.T.Arun kumar along with Dr. S.Rajasekaran and other faculty members. Dr. I. Rajendiran, Dean, Research &Innovation, Paavai Engineering College, delivered the Presidential Address on the occasion. Mr.V.Ariharan and Mr.S.R.Yuvaraj, Third year, Biomedical Engineering student introduced the Guest Speakers. Dr. D. Sri Vidhya, M.E., Ph.D. and Mrs.V. Indumathi, M.E., (Ph.D) IPR Coordinators , K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu, India. The guest speakers shared her knowledge about Intellectual Property Rights and Geographical indications among the students and the faculty members with many examples. Also they explained the difference between Innovation, Patent filing, and Startups and the various government and private schemes available to fund these categories of Startups. They further explained how to be an Entrepreneur from idea pitching and then convert a prototype into Startups. They also gave examples about Intellectual Property Rights and Geographical indications. The session was very energetic, interactive and informative. They answered the questions raised by the students. The program came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms.S.Lingasri, Third year, BioMedical Engineering student of Paavai Engineering College. The Management, Director-Admin, Principal and Staff members provided all the support to make the event a very successful one.
