The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in association with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), organized a webinar titled “Beyond 5G: The Road to 6G Networks” on 07.02.2026. The objective of the webinar was to impart knowledge to students about real-time automated networking introduced across various IT sectors.
The welcome address and the introduction of the resource person were delivered by K. Kaviyasri, IV ECE. The Vision, Mission, and PEOs of the department were presented by T. Safrin Safana, IV ECE. The guest speaker for the session was Dr. B. Nivedetha, Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.
The guest speaker commenced the session with an insightful introduction to Beyond 5G and the evolution towards 6G networks, offering participants a broader perspective on future wireless communication technologies and their transformative potential. The session was highly engaging and practical, enriched with real-world use cases, emerging applications, and research trends that helped participants clearly understand the roadmap from 5G to 6G.
The speaker’s visionary outlook on ultra-low latency communication, AI-driven networks, terahertz technologies, and intelligent connectivity encouraged participants to think critically about innovative frameworks and strategies for addressing future networking challenges. The emphasis on collaborative research and interdisciplinary approaches inspired students to explore advanced concepts relevant to both industry and academia.
The session became even more engaging and impactful through the use of pictorial representations, network architecture diagrams, and technology illustrations related to 6G, which made complex concepts easier to understand and more interesting. More than 200 students and 12 faculty members from the ECE department actively participated in the webinar, making it highly interactive. Several insightful queries were raised by the students and were thoughtfully addressed by the guest speaker, further enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the session.
The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by E. Sandhiya, IV ECE. The event was organized by Mr. A. Saravanan, AP/ECE; Mr. S. Satheeshkumar, AP/ECE; and Mrs. S. Vijaya, AP/ECE. Dr. R.
