The Department of Physics, Paavai Engineering College organized a one-day student webinar on “UNVEILING THE QUANTUM ERA: PRINCIPLES AND APPLICATIONS OF QUANTUM COMPUTING” on 21st November 2025. The programme was convened by Dr. T. Krishnakumar, Professor& Head of the Department, and coordinated by Dr. N. Hari Prakash, Assistant Professor, and Dr. T. Prakash, Associate Professor, along with the support of the department faculty members. Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, delivered the Presidential Address, highlighting the growing significance of quantum technologies in the modern world. Dr. K. Selvi, Dean (Academics), introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. R. Nithya, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, St. Martin’s Engineering College, Kompally, Secunderabad. C. Nandhu, a first-year student from CSE-C, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. The session was then handed over to the Chief Guest. Dr. R. Nithya delivered an insightful and engaging lecture, providing a clear understanding of the foundational principles of quantum computing and its wide-ranging applications. The webinar proved to be highly informative, enabling students to gain an in-depth perspective on the emerging quantum era. An interactive session followed, during which participants enthusiastically engaged with the speaker. S. Nikhitha, a first-year student from Cyber Security–B, proposed the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all contributors. The Department extends heartfelt thanks to the Management, Director–Admin, Principal, and all Staff Members for their continual support, which contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
