The Department of English in association with English Club, Paavai Engineering College organized a Workshop on Master of Ceremony: Be the Voice of the Event on 17.02.26 at Bright Hall, PIF. The event commenced with a Prayer Song and Tamil Thai Vazhthu. L.Asin, I-IT, PEC welcomed the gathering and M.Hariprasath, I-ECE, PEC introduced the speaker. Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, Paavai Engineering College gave the presidential address. She highlighted the importance of anchoring and to prepare holistically to handle communication, coordination and leadership challenges that come with hosting events, importance of anchoring and communication skills.
Dr.R.Shanthi, Professor, Department of English, Paavai Engineering College was the resourse person. She created an awareness among students about the roles and responsibilities of a Master of Ceremony in various academic, cultural and professional events. She gave guidelines on how to confidently host programmes and manage stage activities effectively. During the workshop, students were trained in essential communication skills, voice modulation, pronunciation and body language. They were guided on script writing, introducing guests formally and maintaining a smooth flow of events. Special attention was given to overcoming stage fear and handling unexpected situations with confidence and presence of mind.
The workshop was interactive and practical in nature. Students actively participated in mock anchoring sessions which helped them gain hands-on experience. The trainer shared valuable tips on audience engagement and professional stage etiquette. A total of 120 students from different departments actively participated in the workshop, making the programme highly interactive and successful. The event came to an end with the Vote of Thanks proposed by K.Kirithika, I CSE, PEC.
