A webinar on the topic of “Opportunities after Engineering through GATE / ESE / PSU” was organized by the Centre for Higher Studies on 21.04.2023 for the students through Zoom platform. Mr. Aditya Vangala, Faculty – ACE Engineering Academy, Hyderabad, was the Chief Guest and delivered the speech. The objective of the webinar was to create awareness among the students about various examinations conducted by the government like GATE, ESE and PSU to do higher studies with stipends and also to enter public sector/government services. Such knowledge sharing programs are supported and encouraged by Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director- Administration, Paavai Institutions and Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College. Dr.K.Sundaramurthy, Head – IQAC, welcomed the speaker, talked about the significance of such programs and formally started the program. Dr.V.Subburam, Coordinators of ‘Higher Studies – Abroad’ and co-coordinators Mr.N. Manigandan, Mr.V.Senthil Kannan, Department of Mechanical Engineering made the required arrangements. Dr.S.Maniraj, Department of Mechanical Engineering introduced the Speaker and took care of the master of ceremony.
The chief guest explained about various aspects of examinations like Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, Engineering Services Examinations, and how to prepare for these examinations. He also explained about each of these examinations elaborately, providing information about weightages given to each area of the particular branch (e.g.- weightage to Thermal Engineering, Design, Manufacturing in Mechanical Engineering), study-plan, time management, solving old question papers, stress-free preparation etc.
At the end of the program, students raised questions and the speaker clarified them. The webinar was well received by the students. A large number of students, from various departments interested participated in the program. The program ended with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr.J.Naveen Kumar, Third year Mechanical student.
