The Constructors Club, Department of Civil Engineering, Paavai Engineering College organized “Quantify & Convert and The Pirate’s Eye” on 29.11.2022 from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. as a part of club activity.
In Quantify & Convert event, total number of 12 (3 members per team) student teams of II, III and IV year from civil department has participated. It is a unit conversion event. Each team are given with measuring tools like tape, scale and chain to measure elements like corridor, doors, windows, column and opening provisions. Main concept of this event is to measure and convert from measured unit (Feet, m) to other units (Feet, inch, m, cm, square feet) within the time limit of 45 minutes. At the end of this event, they have learnt about various unit conversion. Top 3 teams were awarded with certificates. R.Surya, IV/Civil and M.Priyaharun, IV/Civil won 1st place and G.Praveen, III/Civil, A.Praveen, III/Civil and P.Ranjith, III/Civil and L.Dhanush, II/Civil, B.Sarathi, II/Civil and S.Siva, II/Civil won 2nd place.
In The Pirate’s Eye event, total number of 4 (7 members per team) student teams of II, III and IV year from civil department were actively participated. It is a treasure hunt event. Each team is given with different set of clues to find final hunt within the time limit of 1 hour. At the end of this event, students were able to learn time management, leadership and thinking ability. R.Surya, M.Priyaharun, M.Mukilarasu, P.Keerthika, P.Kasthuri, P.Aswin, G.Neethu has finally found the treasure and won the event.
