An Guest Lecture on the topic “Inlet Design for Scramjet Engines” was organized through online by the Department of Aeronautical Engineering on 21/02/2024 from 03.00 PM To 04.30 PM online. Dr.K.RAJASEKAR, PROFESSOR, Aerospace Engineering, Jain University, Banglore was the Guest Speaker. The objective of the event was to familiarize the students with the advances in the Scramjet inlet design industry and corresponding career opportunities. The Welcome address and chief guest introduction was delivered by A.Nandhakumar, student of Final Year Aeronautical Engineering. Dr. M. PREMKUMAR, Principal of Paavai Engineering College encouraged the students to look beyond the syllabus to improve the knowledge and thank the resource person for the valuable inputs.
In his guest address Dr.K.RAJASEKAR explained about the recent advancements and design challenges of the Scramjet inlet sector in India. He pointed out the procedure for applying new design inlet and software to test the supersonic inlets. He also listed the companies providing internships in the field of inlet and wind tunnel testing. Around 70 participants attended the online guest lecture. Queries were asked and it was clarified by the resource speakers.
The session ended with a vote of thanks by Dr.D.DEEPAK Associate professor of Aeronautical Engineering. The event was convened by Professor & Head, Dr.R.ARRAVIND and Co-ordinated by Associate professor of Aeronautical Engineering.
