The Department of Agriculture Engineering has condcted a “Pongal celebration” in M.S.Swaminathan Vayal Kudam on 09.01.2024 (Tuesday). A festival to thank God for mercies and as gratitude to the farmers and the agricultural field, to look forward to a prosperous year. The students arrived in traditional dhotis and sarees to mark the occasion. The celebration started around 10.30 a.m. The entrance of the field laboratory was decorated with colourful Rangoli. Pongal was prepared by the department staff and students with the rice harvested from our Paavai Organic Farm.The ceremony was inaugurated by our beloved correspondent Smt.N.MANGAI NATARAJAN. The Pongal is offered to the sun god on the occasion and it was prepared in a specially decorated pot with religious and divine touch. Along with the Pongal Celebration, the Sales counter for selling Paavai Organic Farming agriculture produces has been inaugurated. Our respected Director Administration Dr.K.K.RAMASAMY, Principal Dr.M.PREMKUMAR and other dignitaries were also joined the occasion. Our students participated in cultural events like “ Bharatham, Kummi, Karagam and Silambam” in remembrance of our tradition culture. Sweet Pongal was distributed to all the students. The ‘uri adithal’ and ‘Tug of war’ a traditional game was also conducted for students. Everybody left home with memories as it was yet another joyous celebration in Paavai Engineering College.
