The Department of chemistry had organized an online Guest Lecture on” NEXT GENERATION BATTERY TECHNOLOGY “on 01st December 2023 at 06.30p.m.through the Microsoft Teams platform. The Resource person was Prof.T.Amirthavarshini Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Sri Sai Ram Engineering Colleg, Chennai. The welcome address was given by from first year S.SuryaPrakash (IOT) and Dr.R.Gayathri, AP(SG) Chemistry introduced the resource person .
The objective of organizing the online guest lecture was to create awareness among the students on Advanced Storage Devices and battery Technology. The outcome of the webinar is that the students gained knowledge advanced new battery like Lithium ion battery, Sodium-ion Battery, Aluminium –Air Battery, Gold nanowire gel electrolyte battery, NanoBolt lithium tungsten battery, ion-manganese oxide batteries in battery Technology. The Advanced battery technology battery technology currently development and will change the future,. The resources person insists the lithium–air battery uses a solid electrolyte instead of the typical liquid variety,potentially boosting the battery’s energy density by as much as four times above lithium- ion batteries,which translate into a longer diving range and discussed current state of battery technology and application in various field.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.N.Dhanabalan ASP,Chemistry. Faculty members and about 382 students were present in the meeting. The feedback received from the students about the webinar served as a catalyst for knowledge exchange, highlighting the promising advancement and collaborative efforts shaping the future of energy storage.
