The Department of chemistry had organized an online Guest Lecture on “SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT” on 19th May 2022 at 06.30 p.m. through the Microsoft Teams platform. The Resource person was Dr,C. Mannivannan Assistant Professor- Senior Grade, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathiyamangalam, Erode. The welcome address was given by M.Muthupriya from first year AGRI and Dr.N.Geetha, ASP Chemistry introduced the resource person.
The objective of organizing the Online guest lecture was to create awareness among the students on reducing and handling ways of Solid Wastes. The outcome of the webinar is that the students gained knowledge on various treatment methods in solid waste management. They are aware on the sources of solid waste generation globally and nationally, as a potential threat, to the environment. The resources person insists about the 3R concept and zero waste management technology for sustainable environment.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by S. Sathiyasudha AP,Chemistry. Faculty members and about 260 students were present in the meeting. The feedback received from the students about the webinar was useful for mankind and waste material elimination.
