The Department of chemistry was organized an online Guest Lecture about ” RECENT TRENDS IN ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY” on 04th January 2024 at 06.30 p.m. through the Microsoft Teams platform. The Resource person was Prof. V.Santhanam Associate Professor, Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya (SCSVMV) (Deemed University) Kanchipuram. The welcome address was given by Mr.A.Jeeva, AP /Chemistry and the resource person was introduced by Mrs.S.Sathiyasudha, AP/Chemistry.
The objective of organizing the online guest lecture was to provide the knowledge among the students to develope an understanding of the broad role and handling ways of analytical instruments. The outcome of the webinar is that the students gained knowledge on various application of analytical and characterization techniques in chemistry. They are aware on the uses of these techniques in contemporary culture including drug development, industrial process control, environment monitoring, medical diagnostics, food production and forensic surveys. The resources person insists about the importance in their application to diverse scientific disciplines.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. N. Geetha ASP, Chemistry. Faculty members and about 220 students were present in the meeting. The feedback received from the students about the webinar for further details.
