The Department of Civil Engineering in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council of Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) have organized an Online Workshop on Design Thinking, Critical Thinking and Innovation Design ”on 19.12.2022 from 2.00 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. Dr.R.Kasthuri Bai , Emeritus Professor ,Sri Sarada College for Women , Salem was the resource speaker.
The online workshop started with the welcome address by P.N.Thenswetha from Third year Civil, Paavai Engineering College and chief guest introduction given by R.Surya from Final year Civil, Paavai Engineering College.The session continued with the resource speaker talk. She explained about the thinking process and Engineers should find a way or make a way to innovate, create and also explained the importance of Why, What, How for making new ideas.
She had given more creativity examples by showing portable marriage hall and innovative fruit plucking videos .She also elucidated about design stages like empathize, define , ideate ,prototype and evaluate .She also explained various concepts in design thinking. She insisted the students to create a passion in every innovation they do. The session ended with a Vote of thanks by R.Sharumathi from Third year Civil Engineering
Dr.K.Sundara Murthy, Vice President of IIC, Professor of Mechanical, Dr.R.Mohana Priya, Convenor of IIC, Associate Professor of ECE, Prof.K.Sharmiladevi HOD-Civil , ,A.Jayapal AP/Civil and B.Karthiga AP/Civil IIC Event organizer along with faculty members, and around 87 participants were present in the Workshop.
