The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Institution’s Innovation Council and ISTE organised a Workshop on the topic “Intellectual Property Rights and IP management for startup” on 12.04.2023. The objective of this workshop was to provide knowledge about IPR which is to reward human intellect by providing exclusive rights to the creators over their inventions, artistic, musical works, etc.
The welcome address was given by Selvi J.Najila Farveen, II Year/CSE. The presidential address was given by Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College. He insisted on various activities of our IIC&EDC cell and the importance of this workshop. Earlier Selvi V.Soundariya Lakshmi, II Year/CSE, introduced the Chief Guest.
Dr.V.Nagaraj, Managing Director, Trueline Research Private Limited, Salem commenced the session with a quote “Innovation is equal to Creativity and Commercialization”. He highlighted the importance of Innovation for Engineering. He has discussed the meaning of intellectual property and intellectual property rights, the international regime of IPR and laws relating to IPR in India. He carried out the session with a real example of BILL FORD. He concluded the session by insisting the participants to develop innovative ideas. The vote of thanks was delivered by Selvi S.Narmada, II Year/CSE. A total of 210 students and the faculty members attended this workshop.
