The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Institution’s Innovation Council organised a seminar on the topic “Angel Investment/VC Funding Opportunity for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs” on 14.07.2023. The objective of this seminar was to provide a platform for the students to enrich themselves in the various funding opportunities available for entrepreneurs.
The welcome address was given by Selvi R.Poornima, III Year/CSE. The presidential address was given by Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College. He insisted on various activities of our IIC and EDC cell and the importance of organizing such seminars. In his speech he motivated the students with real life stories of young entrepreneur. Earlier Selvi S.Sangeetha, III Year/CSE, introduced the Chief Guest.
Mr.G.Mohamed Asraf, India’s Leading Business Consultant and Founder & CEO, Excellence Strategies Consultancy Services, Salem. He commenced the session with a quote “Live your dream to become an entrepreneur and follow your passion to achieve your goals”. He highlighted the importance of basic forms of “IDEAS, I-Identify, D-Develop, E-Extend, A-Accelerate”. He also explained the stages of business marketing for Venture Capitalist. He explained the difference between Angel investor, Venture Capital and bank loans. He discussed the difference between Employer and an Entrepreneur. He also conducted an activity to bring out the marketing skills hidden in students. He also elucidated about ‘IKEA’, a world popular furniture brand. He concluded the session by insisting the participants to develop innovative ideas. The vote of thanks was delivered by Selvi R.Abinaya, III Year/CSE. Dr.D.Banumathy HoD/CSE, Convenor, Dr.K.Sundaramurthy, Prof/Mech, IIC Vice-president, Dr.R.Mohanapriya, ASP/ECE, IIC Convenor, EDC Staff coordinators, student coordinators, the total of 210 students and the faculty members of CSE participated.
