The Department of Computer Science organized a Guest Lecture Series on the topic “Python for Data Science, Al and ML Development” on 18.03.2023 in Offline Mode at kalam’s chamber.
S.Deva dharshini,, of second year CSE delivered the welcome address. Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College delivered the presidential address. In his speech he emphasize the importance of AI with classical example, it creates curiosity among the audience . S.Aarthi, of second year CSE introduced the Guest speaker. The guest speaker Mr. N.Jaganathan, Technical Lead, Tech Star, Bangalore presented a Guest Lecture Series on the topic “Python for Data Science, Al and ML Development’. The objective of this program is to make Engineering graduates to understand the importance of Data Science along with machine learning in this emerging IT world. He discussed about how Big Data and tools are used to sharpen relevant skills in data science. He also discussed how data scientist can expect to spend time using programming language to sort through, analyse, and manage large chunks of data. He further highlighted important programming languages used for data science include python, R, SQL. He differentiated machine learning and artificial intelligence. He discussed about new tools and methodologies are needed to manage the vast quantity of data being collected, to mine it for insights and to act on those insights when they’re discovered. He exampled how the specific practical applications of AI include modern web search engines, personal assistant programs that understand spoken language, self-driving vehicles and recommendation engines, such as those used by Spotify and Netflix. He illustrated what are the environment. He also explained different types of machine learning methods and algorithm used for classification and training the models. He concluded with different machine learning applications like Healthcare, Insurance, Telecommunications, Automotive, and Energy.
The Guest Lecture was informative, and the students were motivated for successful plans. Ashif Ahamed ,of second year CSE proposed the vote of thanks. A total of 230 students and the faculty members attended the offline seminar.
