The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with ISTE organized an online alumni guest lecture on “Recent Trends in Telecom Sector – An open vision for near future” on 10th February, 2023 from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Ms.A.Buvaneshwari, NOC Technical Engineer, Telnyx, Dublin, Ireland was the alumni speaker. The welcome address was given by Dr.R.Mohana Priya, ASP, ECE. Ms.S.Sreetherasene, final year ECE introduced the alumni speaker.
The objective of this guest lecture was to create awareness among the students about the recent advancements in the telecom sector. In the presidential address, Principal Dr.M.Premkumar addressed that opportunities are available in all sectors and it is how, students use it for their recruitment.
Followed with it, the alumnus explained about the opportunities in Telecom sector. She insisted the students to concentrate more on core companies than IT sector. She also encouraged the students to focus on problem solving, design thinking and communication skills. She elucidated the various coding technologies used in different sectors. She motivated the students to make the best use of the exemplary facilities available at Paavai Engineering College so that they can transform themselves into the best professionals. She also recollected her hostel memories at Paavai Engineering College and the way it has helped her to groom her communication skills. Finally, queries were posted and it was clarified by her.
The session ended with vote of thanks. Dr.M.Sudha, Professor and Head, ECE, Mr.S.Sathish, Department Alumni Coordinator, Dr.R.Mohana Priya, ASP, ECE, faculty members and 110 students were present at the meeting. As per the feedback received from the students, it was an eye-opening session for getting a job in the Telecom sector and the different tips to equip themselves to get placed in different product and service-based companies.
