The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in association with the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Erode local centre, organized an online guest lecture on “Nano Technology in Electronics” on 28.11.2022, 3.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Dr. M. Sudha, Prof. HoD/ECE welcomed the gathering. Prof. A. Chandrasekaran, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai was the resource speaker.
During the session, he delivered a lecture on the development of nano devices and its role in electronics. He elucidated about nanomaterials and the design consideration of nano devices. He also discussed the scaling of devices, quantum dots, quantum cellular automata and the various softwares for its design. At the end of the session, the queries were posted such as limitations in scaling of components, the role of quantum dots and preliminary software details for the QCA designer. Around 52 students benefited through this online guest lecture. Dr. T. Loganayagi, Professor and Dr. R. Mohana Priya, Associate Professor from ECE department were the coordinators. Dr. M. Sudha, Head of the department, acted as the convenor. The workshop ended with a vote of thanks by Adhila Banu A. III year ECE.
