The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers of India, (IETE) – Erode Local Centre, organised an online seminar titled “Recent Trends In Automotive and Embedded Systems” on 06.09.2022. It was aimed at disseminating knowledge to students about the role of electronics engineers in the automotive and embedded system industries. The welcome address was given by Dharani B, Third year, Department of ECE, Mr.S.Surender, System validation engineer (Automotive embedded), Visteon Technical and Service Center, Chennai was the resource speaker. Ms.N.Shanmathi, from third year ECE introduced the resource speaker.
In his address, he briefed about the importance and role of an electronics engineer in the automotive industry. He started the seminar with the topic – The golden cycle (Why, How, What) and explained about Software Development Life Cycle. He discussed the concepts of the automotive industry from steam vehicles to electrical vehicles, ECU and their types. He also explained the Arduino roadmap and its challenges. The students were able to acquaint themselves with the various applications of the automotive industry. Around 95 members participated in the online seminar. Queries were posted and it was clarified by the resource speaker.
The session ended with a Vote of Thanks by Niranjan S, Third Year, ECE. Mr.S.Vijay Murugan, IETE Faculty coordinator, Mr.S.Satheeshkumar, Assistant Professor, ECE organised the event. Dr.M.Sudha, Professor and Head, ECE, Dr.R.MohanaPriya and Dr.T.Loganayaki, Association coordinators also attended the seminar along with faculty members of ECE.
