Paavai Institutions organised a guest lecture titled “Higher Studies at IIT’s” on 04.03.2023. It was aimed at disseminating knowledge to students about higher studies in IIT. The welcome address was given by Ms.S.Sreetharassene from final year ECE. Dr.D.Thirumulanadhan, Assistant Professor, Department of Economic Sciences, IIT Kanpur was the Chief Guest. Ms.N.Shanmathi, from third year ECE introduced the resource speaker.
In the presidential address, Chairman, Paavai Institutions insisted that one should focus and work towards their goal to achieve their targets. He also stated that students should come out with their innovative ideas and relate their engineering studies to it. He also mentioned that talks from experts like Dr.D.Thirumulanadhan (also called Thirukurral Thirumulanadhan) would inspire us to lead our career in a better way. He also lauded the achievements of the speaker for reciting 1330 couplets of Thirukurral at 4 years of age and for receiving the Honorary Doctorate award for it.
In the keynote address and the presentation, the Chief Guest briefed the importance and role of IIT’s in higher studies. He explained about the scope of research in Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering, Engineering Design and Economics. He cited many examples and relevance to it, in all the fields even after hundreds of years. In addition, he elucidated the list of departments in IIT, the entrance examinations to be taken such as GATE, JAM, NET, JRF and other information related to it. He also insisted the students to do deep learning and prefer standard text books during their course of study to get qualified in these exams. Queries were posted and it was clarified by the resource speaker.
In the felicitation address, Correspondent, Paavai Institution stated that all youngsters must be socially responsible, economically viable, legally bound and create an ethically sound atmosphere. She appreciated the efforts taken by the Chief Guest at an young age. She added that “Mothers are multitalented born gift” for all of us to cherish. She also added that one must be patient in all their deeds and consistent support from Paavai Institutions will be always be given to enhance their skills. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks by Ms.R.Kaviya, final Year ECE. Around 300 students and faculty members from various departments of Paavai Engineering College, Paavai College of Engineering and Pavai Arts and Science College for Women attended the guest lecture. Dr.M.Sudha, HoD, ECE,Mr.S.Loganthan, AP,ECE and Mr.G.NandhaKumar, AP, ECE coordinated the guest lecture.
