The Department of EEE and Energy Club, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Paavai Engineering College, has conducted a one-day workshop on “Wind Energy 2023” on July 15, 2023, at Kalam Chamber. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, presided over the function and insisted on the importance of wind energy to the students. He raised awareness about energy generation using renewable sources.
Mr.S.Prabakaran B.E, Senior Engineer, Renewable Power Sector, Chennai was the guest speaker. In his lecture, he explained the role, needs, and importance of wind energy generation and electrical safety. In his presentation, he elaborated on how energy is generated by wind, wind power plant structure, methodologies, and the functioning of individual sections in the wind power plant. He insisted on a way of saving electricity for the next generation and also pointed out that technical upgrades play an essential role in energy generation and conservation. He inspired the young electrical engineers with his knowledge of electrical safety and gave them an idea of how safety precautions have to be carried out as an electrical engineer while working in a power plant.
This one-day workshop was organised by Professor and Head of the Department Dr.G.Balaji and coordinated by Mr.V.Kumarakrishnan and Mrs.G.Umamaheswari.
Selvi.J.Merlin, a final-year EEE (Energy Club member), welcomed the gathering; Selvi.M.Iniyaa, a final-year EEE, introduced the chief guest; and Selvan.V.Deepakkumar, a second- year EEE (Energy Club member), delivered the vote of thanks.
